Rock The Night Away With The Aloni Band |
| Alonissos has its own rock band led by Chester Smith made up of full-time island residents. During the winter the sounds of "band practice" can be heard drifting across the valley towards Megalos Mourtias from the hallowed halls of Chester's music room. During the summer the band can be found performing at the Pleiades Restaurant and Apartments in Patitiri. The gig dates for this year can be seen on the band's poster below. |

The mainstay of the band are:
Chester Smith on guitar and lead vocals At various times other musicians coming back to their homes on the island feature on songs in the groups repertoire which includes numbers by Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel, Rolling Stones, Lynard Skynard as well as a whole host of other famous singers and song writers which are too numerous to mention. Impromptu performances also take place and as nothing is fixed some local knowledge is necessary to find out when and where the band are playing.
