Halloween 2013

It has been 4 years since the last Halloween party, which was held at Villa Aliki, so a group of us decided to try a Halloween night on 31st October at Taverna Panselinos in the Old Village.  We organized a buffet with Yorgos at 12.50 euro per ticket and set a start time for 7pm.  We were a little apprehensive as to the response but on the night we had sold 42 tickets, which was more than Yorgos had catered for but his attitude was the more the better.

Fancy dress was made optional so as not to put anyone off coming to the party but in the end, as you can see from this page, almost everyone came in some sort of fancy dress for the evening.  We had a load of Halloween decorations such as rubber bats, spiders, wall hangings, skeletons, etc, left over from the last event and we bought some additional things when we were in the UK in October.

Yorgos and his team had organized the inside of the taverna for seating, eating and dancing and DJ Tony Larcombe did a brilliant job with the Halloween music.  Gerry did her famous Witches Cauldron and Scream of Tomato soups to start off the food and then around 8.30pm the buffet hit the table.  After the buffet the music level ramped up and everyone got up to dance the night away.

We provided a bottle of French wine from our travels as a prize for the best dressed ghoul or ghost, to be chosen by Yorgos and his staff.  There were 3 people that came equal 1st, so the names went into a hat and Di Sinclair's name came out for her mummy's outfit.  We left not long after midnight with a few people still partying down and everyone seemed to have a great time.  Some general shots of the evening are posted below:
