Oxi Day - 28th October 2013

The weather was lovely and warm and we left home around 10.45am to get to the Dimos offices around 11am where a large crowd was gathered around the war memorial listening to details of the background to Ohi Day being read.  After the ceremony ended the children went off to get into the groups for the march passed and we all took positions opposite the war memorial to watch and applaud the children marching.

The marching started around 11.05am with the children from the infant's school first with the Greek flag, followed by children from the lower and upper schools by year group and then ending with the Scouts carrying a paraglide.  Each group were enthusiastically applauded as they went passed and all were obviously very proud to be part of the Ohi Day celebration.  After the marching ended Christina organized some of the children to perform some traditional Greek dances in the area in front of the war memorial.
