Votsi

Votsi is the closest large village to Patitiri and is the second largest in terms of population and is best described as two different places in one.  To the residents it is a collection of houses and shops where they go about their everyday lives.  To visitors on the island it is a sheltered bay and harbour with a hotel, rental accommodation, a small beach and tavernas and bars that open mostly during the summer months.  In the summer months the bay of Votsi is a lovely place to visit.  You can while away endless hours watching yachts and fishing boats sailing in and out of the harbour over an ice cool drink.

As you drive down towards the harbour there is a plaka road off to the left which leads passed the church of Agios Panteleimonas and eventually ends at the helicopter landing pad.  Continuing down the road towards the harbour there is a dirt road off to the left that takes you to a group of tavernas that overlook the harbour front.  There are also bars and tavernas close to the harbour area which has recently been extended and improved with a grant from the European Union.  As with everywhere around the coast of Alonissos the water is crystal clear and invites you to take a cooling dip.
